Carilion New River Valley Medical Center

Carilion New River Valley Medical Center

As the leading health care provider in the New River Valley, Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) anchors a medical center complex that includes a modern hospital facility with diagnostic and medical care, a Level III Trauma emergency department, two heliports, and Carilion Clinic Saint Albans Hospital for psychiatry and behavioral medicine.

CNRV’s Heart and Vascular Center brings together our cardiology and vascular teams, advancing our treatment services and enhancing the patient experience. Two medical office buildings on campus give patients easy access to more than 50 medical specialists, including orthopaedics and sports medicine, cardiology, general and vascular surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and gastroenterology to name a few.

The Birthplace, our maternity unit, is a Professional Research Corporation Patient Satisfaction 5–Star award winner four of the last six years. Additionally in 2013, CNRV was recognized by the National Research Corporation as a Consumer’s Choice award recipient and received an “A” grade from the Leapfrog Group for Hospital Safety.

Unique in design, the restful atmosphere and roomy layout of CNRV makes any length of stay comfortable for patients and their families. Our dedicated staff focuses on quality patient care and customer service. And as part of the Carilion Clinic, CNRV offers patients seamless access to even higher levels of care if needed, such as the Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital or the Carilion Cancer Center of Western Virginia, both located in Roanoke, VA.

Carilion Clinic contracts with most major health insurance carriers.
